Any chance of getting the board to remember where we last read a thread up to so when we read 'new posts', it takes us to the last post we read rather than back to the beginning? It's difficult to tell where we left off otherwise.

Just to be sure:
I assume you expect that clicking the topic title brings you to the first unread post in the topic, right?

You can click either the 'red' colored icon just right of the topic title to achieve the same (also the tiny red colored document icon would do this).

I did hack a bit in a html code of the forum and if all is well clicking the topic title now brings you to a first unread post (if existing).

You can also get an overview of unread post via the tiny 'Quick links' icon left top of the forum just below the VFR discussion picture.

Is this the requests page? Like/Dislike option please. And a link at top and bottom for "mark forums read" please.

Yes, requests are highly welcome in this section.

Like is already possible by pushing this icon: Currently, there is no button to actively dislike (also not found in extensions available currently for this forum software).

Regarding, 'mark everything read' top and bottom: on 'initial/main page' it is 'only' available on the top:

For bottom on the 'initial/main page', I need to have a look if easily possible to add i have added that.

When already in a category (so not 'initial/main page'), already top and bottom options are there (when there are still unread posts):

Here's me screen on the mark all as read. I don't' have it on any of my screens, top or bottom.

Indeed, the 'new posts' screen has no 'buttons' to mark all unread posts as read.
Why don't you just use the 'unread posts' quick link / screen instead?
