Hi everyone,
I'm fairly new to the VFR community. I bought a 2000 VFR in July of 2025 and have been working on it more than I have been riding... at least that's the way I'm feeling. The VFR was bought from a dealer in Colorado and shipped to me. I rode it for a couple of months before winter came. I figure that would be the time to take things apart and sort it for any issues it might have. Once I got it back together is when a few issues showed up. Have everything sorted except one... overheating. At this time it seems to be solved, but not 100% sure yet.
I have been riding since 2008 I started on a 89' Kawasaki EX500. I still have it and it runs great. VFR is the 1st big boy bike for me. I love it and it is such a joy to ride. I mainly want to ride the VFR to work as my daily, it's 100 mile around trip for me. I don't have anyone to ride with outside of going to work. That is why I'm sure there won't be many trips on the VFR. I live in Raleigh, NC. I'm bummed there is not many motorcycle events in my area. There is a big event in Indiana that fills up the convention center there. lots of vendors and all. We need more of them.
I'm looking forward to being here and hoping to share things I have learn about the VFR, but somehow I think a lot of you are going to be teaching me.
