I purchased it in 08 with 5,000 miles, it now has 107,000... largely trouble-free miles, has never left me stranded. It's on its 4th stator, 3rd set of CCT's. I did its first ever valve clearance check at 96,000 miles, if memory serves, I believe I adjusted 8 valves. Still runs great. Absolutely no intention of ever selling.

Just out of curiosity, how tight were the valves? Was the check done because of hard starting when hot, a drop in performance over time, or just because you wanted to do it? BTW, it looks good with those Staintunes tucked up there.

To me the bike was running just fine before the check, no starting or performance issues whatsoever. I just felt it was probably time to have a look see, and I was pretty curious as well. The bike seems to run about the same after as before the check, fact is to me the bike always ran great.tbzep wrote: Mon Jun 29, 2026 3:03 pm Just out of curiosity, how tight were the valves? I did adjust 2 or 3 of the ones that were near the limit. Below are the check results (light green is spec, black is what was in there, red is measured)
